Our mission is to provide each of our athletes with the knowledge, focus and understanding of how to achieve their goals in life and on the track. Through professional training methods, experienced coaches and the support of our parents we can achieve these goals. The participants of the program will have the opportunity to receive sport specific instruction from accomplished coaches and athletes in our community. They will experience the benefits of good fitness, healthy competition, increased self-esteem and learn that with dedication and hard work you can achieve your goals. We support effort as opposed to talent. We evaluate each student athlete and target specific goals for each individual. They gain confidence through an emphasis based on effort and our acknowledgement of their improvement. Our youth experience fitness benefits, joys of competition, and team unity of Cross Country and Track & Field through an education-based program. The level of each athlete will be taken into consideration as we develop an individualized training and performance plan for the season. Velocity will also develop tomorrow's young leaders within our own community. When our athletes see the progress that can occur through regular practice on the field they can carry over that concept to their studies. In this and other ways we encourage academic achievement . As much as we want our children to know the high morale and camaraderie that comes from team competition and victory - an equally important role of regular athletic activity is to develop life long healthful habits which will benefit them long after they've entered adulthood. Members of Velocity are aware at all times that they are the public face of the club and as such impeccable social skills are required. The standards of behavior we expect, and they exhibit as a consequence, allow them to integrate effectively into society. Members of Velocity go on to be both invaluable citizens in the community and positive role models to younger generations.
On Saturday, December 5th, 2020, Velocity had seven athletes compete in the 2020 AAU Cross Country National Championship in Tallahassee Florida. We returned with three National medals.
